  PROJECTS - FAST FORWARD
Top Line

Move On East was delighted to be awarded funding by the Big Lottery Fund for a period of three years commencing Spring 2006. The Fast Forward Project will provide a series of media based initiatives aimed at disadvantaged people, including ex/offenders, designed to engage individuals, promote a sense of self believe and achievement. This will be followed by a programme of life skills training aimed at developing social, educational and employability skills.

Through Move On East ’s experience of delivering learning to ex/offenders we understand the need for some people to gain confidence before considering group learning. The advantage of this project is that, unlike mainstream providers, we will be providing small groups, between 4 and 6.

The Big Lottery funding will enable Move On East to develop a new partnership with Blue Cat Initiative who will provide the multi media based learning. Blue Cat Initiative have undertaken a number of exciting projects working with the homeless and disadvantaged groups promoting ‘their voice’ in the community through radio and photography activities. Photographs taken during the first group are shown here, including a summary put together by group participants:

  • Cooking
  • Budgeting
  • Assertiveness
  • Keyboard Skills using Internet and Email
  • Presentation Skills

During the life of the Fast Forward Project we aim to deliver these activities across Norfolk. If you would like to participate on these programmes, or work with this group of individuals, please make contact. More information will be posted on this site as the project gets underway. In the meantime please contact:
